POORAN & POLLARD STEER TKR TO AN EMPATHIC WIN | SKNP VS TKR | CPL 2023
The Knights took on SKNP at the Warner Park Stadium in St Kitts. The much anticipated encounter between the two teams lived up to its expectations as the fans witnessed one epic clash. TKR won the toss and chose to field first. SKNP got off to a flying start but the Champion DJ Bravo came in to cut short their party. He removed both Fletcher & Lewis in one over to shift the momentum towards the Knights. The TKR bowlers kept their stranglehold on the SKNP batters throughout the course of the innings and did not allow the runs to flow. The master Sunil Narine stepped up as he always does & picked up 3 crucial wickets. SKNP set a target of 179 for the Knights.
TKR started the run-chase with a positive intent and an attacking mindset. Nicholas Pooran was promoted up the order and he lived up to the expectations. Pooran smashed a quickfire 61 which included 4 sixes, which set the Knights on a path to victory. On the other hand, Tucker who was playing his first-ever CPL game, impressed everyone with his temperament as he played second fiddle to Pooran and stitched up a huge partnership. Skipper Polly & Dre-Russ put the finishing touches to a nearly perfect run-chase, with the duo hitting 7 sixes in their short stay. Andre Russell finished it off with a six to seal a commanding victory for the Knights. TKR will look to continue this winning momentum & keep performing as a unit.
