Asked to bat first, TKR endured a stuttering start, but captain Nicholas Pooran stepped up to steady the innings with a composed knock. His well-crafted 52 off 38 balls provided the backbone of the innings before Kieron Pollard unleashed his trademark power-hitting, lighting up the stadium with a scintillating 65 from just 29 deliveries. Their crucial partnership shifted momentum firmly in TKR’s favour, and Andre Russell’s late fireworks added valuable runs in the death overs, propelling the side to a formidable 179/6. With such a commanding total on the board, the baton was firmly passed to the bowlers to defend the total.

In the chase, SKNP began strongly, but TKR’s bowlers held their nerve and turned the tide with timely breakthroughs. Nathan Edwards was outstanding with the ball, claiming three wickets that broke the back of the Patriots’ batting lineup. Usman Tariq and Mohammad Amir kept the pressure tight through the middle overs, while Sunil Narine’s miserly spell further stifled the run chase. Despite a solid opening stand, the Patriots faltered under sustained pressure and lost their way in the latter overs, finishing 12 runs short. It was another comprehensive performance by TKR, blending grit and brilliance, and the team will take immense pride in keeping their winning streak alive as they look forward to their next challenge.
