For the third time in four games, TKR won the toss and elected to bowl first. It turned out to be a good decision, as the cloudy skies that were constantly threatening to burst open, patiently held on, in the backdrop of T20 and CPL history being scripted at Queen’s Park Oval.
The match will be forever be remembered for the cricketing milestone set by Dwayne The Champion Bravo, who set all new records by becoming the first cricketer to claim 501 wickets in the T20 format of cricket as well as the first player to claim 101 wickets in the Caribbean Premier League history.
The Original Champion @DJBravo47 knocks down two birds with a single shot! Rahkeem's wicket brings up #Bravo's historic 500th T20 scalp as well as his 100th @CPL wicket! 🥂🎇 pic.twitter.com/Icqk17OUNQ

After having inched closer every match, Dwayne DJ Bravo finally took his 500th T20 wicket on the fateful morning of 26th August and in fact took it up to 501 by the end of his spell. The Champion set the tone for this game with his blistering opening over from which the Zouks never recovered, conceding only seven runs throughout the match.
The historic moment was complemented by equally effective spells from Fahad Ahmed Khary Pierre and Ali Khan, who also took a wicket each. Even our new acquisition for the season Pravin Tambe, the first and only Indian player to play in the CPL as well as the oldest player in the CPL, ended up bagging a wicket in his debut CPL over.
Our fiery bowling attack was unfortunately interrupted by rain when the Zouks were on 111/ 6.
Rain puts a pause to the brilliant bowling performance from #TKRiders. Stay tuned for updates.

After a long delay, TKR was set a revised Duckworth Lewis calculated target of 72 runs in 9 overs with a 3 over powerplay.
Fantastic work from the Queen's Park Oval groundstaff, and the game is ON - we'll restart at 1:30pm local time, and Trinbago Knight Riders will need 72 TO WIN in 9 overs!#CPL20 #CricketPlayedLouder #SLZvTKR pic.twitter.com/PpWRbafvF6

Having lost Lendl Simmons and Tion Webster early on in the innings, quickfire knocks from Colin Munro and DM Bravo, who hit his 100th CPL six, helped stabilize the innings.
Batsman-wicketkeeper Tim Seifert also had a brief cameo where he brought in some innovative flicks and scoops that helped keep the ticker going, and eventually helping bring the game home with a boundary and an over to spare.

Kieron Pollard (on Bravo’s Record and the Win): When T20 cricket started, we thought it was a joke, but now everyone wants to play it and Bravo is at the top, with 500 wickets. We as West Indians are very very proud of him. And now he's at the stage of his career where he's mentoring the next generation. The way we gathered our squad, we have kept the core of the team, couple of guys go out, couple of guys come in, they have hunger. Every person has a role here and when they get the opportunity, they know exactly what to do. That's why we succeed"
DJ Bravo (on the TKR win and his new record): "It's a great result for us. Zouks got off to a very good start in the tournament. We're happy with the win. I guess I have to say congratulations to myself and the entire nation. It's a great journey. I want to stay fit, to keep taking wickets and to keep enjoying the game"
