After being put into bat first, TKR set a challenging target of 183 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Colin Munro laid the foundation with a rapid 43 off 30 balls, while Nicholas Pooran added a measured knock, keeping the momentum going. It was Kieron Pollard who stole the show, his explosive 65 off just 29 balls, studded with multiple towering sixes, provided the finishing flourish. A late cameo from McKenny Clarke (12 off 3) added that extra edge to TKR’s final tally of 183 runs which looked to be a great score on this pitch. It was upon the TKR bowlers now to defend this total and help TKR pick up victory.

In response, the Saint Lucia Kings made a determined effort to chase down the total. Their top order showed promise, but TKR’s bowlers expertly quelled momentum at critical junctures. Usman Tariq was outstanding, finishing with figures of 2 for 20, while Andre Russell (2 wickets) and Mohammad Amir (1 wicket) combined to choke the chase. The Knight Riders’ collective discipline in the death overs sealed the outcome, as they defended the total with composure and grit. SLK reached 165 for 6 in their 20 overs, still falling short by 18 runs handing TKR a victory.
