On the back of their terrific wins while chasing, TKR chose to bowl first yet again on a sunny day in Tarouba. The bowlers aimed to take the field with aggressive intent and execute their plans to the fullest. They planned on bowling tight lines and lengths and picking up early wickets to grab the first advantage in the game. However, the Johnson Charles-Faf du Plessis opening duo put on a massive opening partnership of 145 runs. After a toiling long and hard, Jayden Seales delivered the crucial breakthrough for TKR as he picked Charles’ wicket. TKR came storming back into the game after that wicket as skipper Pollard brought himself on and picked up the opposition skipper du Plessis’ wicket. Chris Jordan also chipped in the wickets column with his searing yorkers. TKR restricted SLK to 218 on the back off a terrific 4-fer from captain Pollard who stepped up for the team when the chips were down. It was upon the batters now to chase this big total down and deliver yet another win for TKR

The TKR batters started off the run-chase with an aim to make an explosive stand in the powerplay and keep up the aggressive intent. However, TKR lost early wickets, which put them on the backfoot from the outset. Jason Roy held the fort at one end and kept fighting despite of a collapse. Whenever TKR looked to get some sort of momentum they lost a wicket which kept them getting away from the game. The TKR management and players will now go back to the drawing board and look to better their performances in the next game.
