Bowling first, TKR Women displayed discipline and control in the opening phases, restricting the Warriors from running away with the game. The spinners, led brilliantly by Jess Jonassen, kept the pressure on throughout the innings. Jonassen’s clever variations earned her two crucial wickets, while the supporting bowlers chipped in to ensure that no partnership truly took the game away. Thanks to their collective efforts, the Knight Riders kept the opposition to a manageable total of 129/7 in 20 overs — a target that looked well within their reach at the halfway mark.

In response, the chase was built steadily, with Lizelle Lee providing an aggressive start at the top and Jonassen holding the innings together in the middle. The Knight Riders battled hard, but wickets at key junctures meant the momentum was difficult to fully sustain. Despite a late push, the team fell just short, finishing on 123/9, six runs adrift of the target. While the result did not swing in their favour, there were many positives to take, from disciplined bowling to flashes of batting brilliance, giving TKR Women a strong foundation to build on as they look ahead to the rest of the season and come back strong in their next game.
