Trinbago Knight Riders Women were gunning to continue their impressive run in WCPL 2026 and claim their second WCPL trophy as they stepped onto the biggest stage of the tournament. With the entire squad determined to give their best and contribute together, TKR Women were looking to bring the same energy, confidence and all-round quality that had defined their campaign. The fans were excited to see the Knight Riders in action in the finale, rallying behind the team as they looked to dominate proceedings and finish their journey with the trophy.

Batting first, TKR Women looked to build a strong total and found valuable contributions throughout the innings. Sushma Verma anchored the innings with a composed 39 off 34 deliveries, while Shikha Pandey provided an excellent boost with a quick 27 off 17. The innings gained further momentum towards the finish as Marizanne Kapp produced a brilliant cameo, smashing 25 off just 10 balls. TKR Women finished strongly at 145/6 in 20 overs, setting GAW-W a competitive target and giving their bowling attack a strong platform to defend.

With the ball, the Knight Riders continued to show their fighting spirit and kept the finale intensely competitive. Deandra Dottin, Shikha Pandey and Karishma Ramharack led the bowling effort with two wickets each, consistently creating breakthroughs and keeping GAW-W under pressure. The Knight Riders fought hard throughout the chase and pushed the game deep, with GAW-W eventually reaching 149/8 in 19.3 overs. Despite the result, TKR Women showed tremendous determination on the biggest stage, with contributions across both innings highlighting the character, experience and togetherness of the squad throughout their WCPL 2026 campaign.
